Together with the one-day Career Fair, the Expo offered a platform for everyone interested and working in the games industry.

The Blender Institute is a studio for Open 3D animation, game or visual effects projects. It has been established in Amsterdam in 2007 as a spin-off of the Blender Foundation. On the wings of the successful launch of the Foundation's first Open Movie "Elephants Dream", the Blender Institute explores ways to commercially organize projects that exclusively use open source tools, and to realize and publish openly licensed content. The Institute recently published the 3D cartoon movie "Big Buck Bunny", and now works on completing a 3D game derived from this movie short.
