Sean Kauppinen
foto Sean Kauppinen  - has represented videogames and gaming hardware since 1995, working on more than 400 titles in his career. Kauppinen is responsible for consulting, business development, branding, and for providing strategic counsel to TriplePoint's clients internationally, as well as day-to-day operations of the agency. Previously he served as Head of Product PR for Sony Online Entertainment, and held PR and marketing management positions at Ubisoft, bleem!, 3dfx, and Golin/Harris. His career began with Morgen-Walke Associates where he worked on IPOs and provided investor relations counsel to clients including Galoob Toys, and Activision. Kauppinen holds a BA in Cinema Writing and Directing from San Francisco State University.


Your New Best Friend, the “New Gamer”
As the market for “casual” games grows and less risk is being taken on big budget titles, the business development and communications environment has changed. The hardcore fan is no longer the only target, so the way we communicate and reach this new audience needs to evolve as well. We all need to reassess our traditional plans and find new ways to stand out from those who can’t change. This talk, aimed at producers, marketing executives, and the business development community, looks at the changing market and offers some thoughts on how to approach the new gamer in ways they’ll understand.
