Thomas van Essen - is an attorney at SOLV in Amsterdam. He is specialized in the fields of Intellectual Property Rights, open source, (international) contracts, advertising and (promotional) games of chance. In his practice he often represents the interests of companies active in the gaming industry. He advises them on the protection of their intellectual property rights and assesses and drafts their contracts.
Besides his work as an attorney, Thomas also is a guest lecturer at the Universiteit van Amsterdam and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
Thomas has been affiliated with SOLV since its founding and worked as legal in-house counsel at Skype in London for a period in 2005.
