Jan Simons - is Associate Professor in New Media at the University of Amsterdam. He is the former chief editor of the Dutch film magazine Skrien. He is director of the Mobile Learning Game Kit project (funded by SURF), which aims to develop a toolkit for the design of educational games for mobile devices. He is senior member of the research group "Digital Games" which is funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). His latest book is Playing The Waves: Lars von Trier's Cinematic Games (Amsterdam: Amsterdam University Press, 2007).
