Erik t' Sas - born in 1973, has been developing and playing video games since he was 11 years old. With a background in Computer Sciences and over 9 years of experience in creating and managing game related projects, he has acquired a thorough understanding and intimate knowledge of the game development process, its dangers, traps and hidden treasures. He is co-founder and owner of Khaeon, a Dutch based company that has rapidly grown from a start-up game development outfit into one of the leading game creators in the region.
Water Power
On April 22nd 2008, a jury consisting of representatives from Cell, Taito, the Dutch Embassy in Japan and the Dutch games industry chose Water Power, a product of the collaboration between Khaeon and Elements Interactive, as the winning entry for the Japan GameJam. This competition was launched to promote the Netherlands as a game developers country in Japan. The GameJam participants were challenged to create a Dutch themed mobile game for the Japanese market within 31 hours. Erik’s Festival of Games presentation will give insight into the realization and challenges of this project. |
