Dr. Alma Schaafstal  - has over twenty years of experience in the field of training and simulation, from a number of perspectives: research, research management, business development, and consultancy. Some of those years were spend abroad: University of Manchester, UK, Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, and the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (Orlando, Fl). She is one of the founding members of the Center for Advanced Gaming and Simulation and was up untill recently project manager of the GATE-program (Gaming for Training and Entertainment. She is one of the developers of the proposal “Dutch Game Valley”, awarded to the Task Force Innovation Utrecht by the Ministry of Economic Affairs together with the Province of Utrecht, the City of Utrecht and the City of Amersfoort.
